SINFONET’s Contribution to the Summer School “Digitalization & AI in Metallurgy”

 

The SINFONET innovation network is pleased to announce its participation in the Summer School “Digitalization & AI in Metallurgy”, which will be held in Udine from June 28 to July 1, 2026.

The event, organized by the Associazione Italiana di Metallurgia (AIM), is aimed at both PhD students and professionals involved in metallurgical processes and metallic alloys development.

The course offers a comprehensive overview of the key applications of Artificial Intelligence and digitalization in the metallurgical sector, focusing on technologies such as computer vision, machine learning, and genetic algorithms, applied to:

  • Alloy design
  • Industrial processes (steel-making, foundry, plastic deformation, heat treatment, additive manufacturing)
  • Defect detection and quality control

 

On Tuesday, June 30, the President of the SINFONET network, Nicola Gramegna, will deliver a specialized presentation titled: “Foundry digitalization oriented to Process Control and Zero Defect Manufacturing”
