NetCastPL4.0 Seminars Series
The NetCastPL4.0 project will organize an international online technical seminar, which will take place on January 20, 2026, focusing on advanced materials and casting technologies for high-performance industrial applications.
The event will address key topics in materials engineering and foundry technology, with a particular focus on nickel-based superalloys for thin-walled aerospace components and austempered ductile iron (ADI) reinforced with titanium carbides. Recent experimental results on the microstructural and mechanical properties of these materials will be presented, together with insights into investment casting technologies and directional solidification processes.
The seminar will feature presentations by Prof. RafaĆ Cygan (AGH University of Kraków), an expert in precision casting technologies for aerospace applications, and Jan Marosz, MSc, a PhD candidate and researcher, who will highlight the potential of TiC-reinforced ADI cast irons as composite materials for advanced industrial applications.
The initiative will be aimed at engineers, researchers, and professionals from the aerospace, automotive, railway, and defence sectors and will provide an important opportunity for technical updates and international exchange between academia and industry. Within the project, SINFONET will participate as a network partner, while CNR-ICMATE, a member of the SINFONET network, will serve as a core partner of the project.
